As midsummer arrives, temperatures steadily climb. Lotus blossoms at Yuyuantan Park have quietly begun to bloom, with scattered new flowers dotting the emerald waves, adding a poetic touch to the height of summer and attracting numerous citizens and visitors to experience this limited-time summer beauty.

Reporter observed at the Wanping Hexiang Scenic Area of Yuyuantan Park that lotus leaves on the lake surface are growing luxuriantly, with rich greenery. The red lotus in the park has gradually entered its initial blooming stage, with most flowers just unfurling their petals, while numerous lotus buds still stand erect above the water, creating an elegant, staggered display of blossoms. Influenced by the open lake environment, the air and water temperatures in this area are relatively lower, resulting in a more leisurely blooming rhythm for the lotus, with an overall pattern of batch-by-batch initial flowering. A gentle breeze brushes across the lake surface, carrying the faint fragrance of lotus flowers; many visitors stop along the lakeside walkway to admire and take photos, soaking in the scenery of early summer lotus. “I used to come every year to see the lotus in full bloom across the entire pond. This year I came especially early—the newly opened lotus are elegant and refined, particularly beautiful”. Citizen Ms. Wang strolled along the lakeside with her child, candidly sharing that the early lotus scenery possesses a distinctive fresh charm that brings both physical and mental relaxation.

According to a responsible official from Yuyuantan Park, the park's two distinctive lotus viewing areas have successively welcomed their initial blooms, each with its own graceful charm and distinctive features. Among them, the Cherry Blossom Lake, rich in landscape heritage, is the park's most comprehensive lotus variety viewing area. Its nearly 8,000-square-meter lotus pond has been cultivated and landscaped for over a decade, presenting a mature and beautiful ecological scene. The lake area mainly cultivates Baiyangdian Red Lotus and Dancing Princess Lotus, complemented by a small number of distinctive varieties such as White Lotus and Great Purple Jade. Currently, the lotus at Cherry Blossom Lake is at its initial blooming stage, with many flowers successively unfurling their stamens, half -open and half -closed, lively and gentle, creating an amusing contrast with the green buds on the branches, fully displaying the natural charm of summer vegetation's new growth and gradual flourishing.

Moreover, the blooming rhythms at the two lotus viewing spots differ, each offering a distinctive viewing experience. The lotus at Cherry Blossom Lake has begun scattered blooming first, with initial flower scenery delicate and exquisite; the red lotus at Wanping Hexiang Scenic Area features tall, vigorously growing plants, and influenced by the microclimate of the water area, its blooming rhythm is more gentle, with flowers continuing to blossom in batches and an extended flowering period lasting until September. Citizens can fully and immersively observe the complete process from initial bloom to full flowering. Currently, the park has comprehensively completed lotus pond maintenance, lake surface cleaning, and walkway safety inspections, meticulously tending to the lotus pond landscape to create a comfortable and pleasant garden viewing environment for visitors.

It is understood that the optimal time for viewing early lotus is from early morning to afternoon, when the light is soft and the lotus fragrance is fresh and elegant. The park warmly reminds all citizens and visitors: when enjoying flowers in the park, please do not approach dangerous areas near the lakeside, do not pick flowers or leaves, and do not trample on vegetation. Please enjoy the flowers responsibly and appreciate the scenery with a peaceful mind, jointly safeguarding the fresh beauty of the early summer lotus pond.
