This August, Haidian Qinghe MixC transforms into an "Architecture Art Museum"! To commemorate the 80th anniversary of the founding of Tsinghua University’s School of Architecture, Tsinghua University’s School of Architecture and Beijing Qinghe MixC have joined forces to create the themed special exhibition "Inheritance of Pillars • Building Dreams in Haidian." Officially opened on August 8, it is completely free throughout!
No reservation needed, no ticket required. Step into the mall and embark on an exploration journey of habitation civilization from tradition to the future, spanning thousands of years!
This exhibition spans multiple floors of the mall, featuring six themed exhibition areas, presenting traditional construction, digital art, academic achievements, family science education, and research experience all in one place. Among them, the "Mural Stories" VR immersive exhibition area stands out as the must-visit core, with immersive roaming experiences delivering breathtaking visual impact at first sight.

1. Wooden Pagoda Adventure
East Zone L1 Atrium • Ancient Architecture Parent-Child Co-Creation Model Exhibition
A 1: 30 scale replica of the Yingxian Wooden Pagoda giant physical model is on display. As one of the world’s three wonder pagodas, its mortise-and-tenon structure is completely deconstructed. Visitors can assemble bracket set components with their own hands, understanding the construction wisdom of ancient craftsmen through hands-on practice, accompanied by science education films for a comprehensive understanding of millennium-old wooden architecture techniques.
Yingxian Wooden Pagoda Parent-Child Co-Creation Model Exhibition
Exhibition Period: August 10–23
Exhibition Introduction: This is a Yingxian Wooden Pagoda model designed and built at a 1:30 scale, jointly constructed over 2 days by teachers and students from Tsinghua University’s School of Architecture and dozens of parent-child families recruited for the activity. Various parts of the model respectively display the pagoda’s structure, facade, floor plan and section drawing, presenting the exquisite architectural craftsmanship of ancient Chinese craftsmen from multiple perspectives.

East Zone L1 Atrium • Gaoping Kaihua Temple Digital Art Exhibition
【VR Love at First Sight Core Check-In Point】
An 8m×4m independent immersive digital exhibition hall uses digital technology to restore the precious murals of the Song Dynasty Gaoping Kaihua Temple. Wearing VR equipment, visitors can immersively roam the panoramic view of the ancient temple, with mottled ancient paintings and pavilions surrounding them, where virtual and real light and shadow interweave. Experience traditional mural aesthetics up close—an immersive encounter unforgettable at first sight.
The Wonderful Journey of Kaihua Temple — VR Film Experience Yingxian Wooden Pagoda Model Parent-Child Co-Creation Building Experience
Activity Introduction: Put on VR glasses and follow the monk Qingbao to immerse yourself in the painting and experience the splendor of the Great Song Dynasty.

Registration Rules:
1. Participation in this activity is through registration on the "MixC" app or mini-program, at 299 MixC Stars / session. Each redemption corresponds to only one experience slot.
2. This activity requires independent registration by date and time slot. Registration is valid only for the registered date and corresponding time slot, and cannot be used across dates or time slots.
3. Each VR film experience session lasts approximately 25 minutes, with a limit of 4 participants per session. If the current experience area is already full with 4 people, participants must queue orderly in the designated waiting area on site, and will be admitted to subsequent sessions according to the on-site queue order.
Activity Rules:
1. The interior facade of the experience space presents mural fragments from the Mahavira Hall of Kaihua Temple. Participants can appreciate the mural content and experience the VR film within this space.
2. VR glasses must be worn during the experience. Please follow staff guidance during the experience. If you experience dizziness or other discomfort symptoms, please promptly signal to staff.
3. After completing the experience, you may collect an exclusive exhibition area postcard as a souvenir. Quantities are limited, available while supplies last.
4. The exterior facade of the experience space presents selected research results from Tsinghua University’s School of Architecture on Gaoping Kaihua Temple from the past 20 years. All are welcome to view.
3. Path to Excellence
West Zone L1/L2 • Outstanding Architectural Design Works Exhibition
A concentrated display of heavyweight student works from Tsinghua Architecture over the years, including Guan Zhaoye Scholarship shortlisted proposals, urban physical architectural models, paired with multi-touch interactive large screens. 4. Intelligent Space
West Zone L2 • Immersive Interactive Roaming Installation
A 4.6-meter ultra-large curved LED screen creates a digital interactive space, where visitors can manipulate equipment to roam through future human habitats and urban virtual scenarios, intuitively experiencing frontier architectural technologies such as digital construction and metaverse spaces, unlocking entirely new imaginings of future habitation.
Quantum Alley — Digital Space Interactive Experience
Activity Dates: August 8–31
Opening Hours: 10:00–22:00
Activity Introduction: Explore the future city, embark on a digital alley journey
Activity Rules:
1. The activity is free and open, no reservation needed. When there are many participants, please queue orderly.
2. If the equipment remains in the previous viewer’s state, please press the tabletop button to reset first.
3. Single experience limited to 5 minutes maximum; the program will automatically exit when time is up.
4. You may use the equipment on the console to operate the character for space roaming and interaction. Operating instructions are detailed on the console.
5. After completing the experience, the system will automatically print your play portrait. Please collect it from the printer.
6. Please take care of the equipment and complete the experience following on-site prompts.
7. The LED screen runs at high temperature. Please do not touch to avoid burns.
Be a Home Safety Inspection Assistant for Grandparents
Activity Dates: August 15–16

Activity Introduction: Put on an elderly simulation suit, experience the difficulty of elderly mobility, and use what you learn here to give your elderly family members’ home a comprehensive check-up
Registration Rules:
1. This activity only supports online registration through the MixC APP or mini-program. 99 MixC Stars per session, limited to one redemption per MixC account per day.
2. This activity is limited to 10 slots per day, with an independent daily registration mechanism. Registration is valid only for the registered date and cannot be used across dates.
3. This activity is a single-person immersive science education experience, with no family or team participation restrictions. Individuals may register alone, with no mandatory age limit. Participants must have the ability to experience independently and complete self-assessment evaluations autonomously.
Activity Rules:
1. Each session lasts approximately 15 minutes, limited to 1 person per session.
2. After wearing the elderly simulation suit, you will have a firsthand experience of "aging." Please follow staff guidance during the process and pay attention to safety.
3. After completing the experience, you may receive one comic loose-leaf souvenir. Quantities are limited, available while supplies last.
Indoor Thermal Comfort Experience Survey

5. Master Lectures
East Zone L6 Member Center • STEAM Architecture Science Education Lecture Hall
Offline sharing sessions are regularly held on weekends during the exhibition period, with Tsinghua associate professors, architecture industry heavyweights, and local original designers taking turns to speak. Discussions center on ancient architecture, digital cities, and children’s architectural aesthetic education. Architecture enthusiasts and parent-child families are all welcome to participate free of charge.
6. Research Post Station
West Zone L2 • University Research Pop-Up Booths
Tsinghua students on site build research experience areas, with aging simulation wearables, indoor thermal environment surveys, and Qinghe Community Renewal Project experiments open simultaneously. Visitors can personally participate in questionnaires and somatosensory interactions, getting up close with cutting-edge urban habitation research projects.
