Push open the virtual “temple gate,” and the Ming Dynasty colored sculptures of “Heavenly Deities” slowly emerge on the giant screen. Step into the panoramic scroll, and the Forty Scenes of the Old Summer Palace (Yuanmingyuan) unfold and extend beneath your feet. With a turn, a humanoid robot is completing a split with graceful limbs...
This is not a science fiction film, but a real scene staged at the Haidian Exhibition Area of the Cultural & Tourism Services Thematic Exhibition at the 2026 CIFTIS. From September 9 to 13, the exhibition area covers 206 square meters, systematically displaying integrated innovation achievements in the “AI + Culture” field, allowing millennia-old cultural heritage to radiate with brand-new vitality in the digital age.
The exhibition area comprises six major sections: Digital Immersion, Haidian Cultural Tourism Group, Haidian District “Artificial Intelligence + Culture” Ecological Service Station, Artificial Intelligence Dance Center, Zhongguancun Arts Season, and Industrial Investment Promotion. The cultural tourism promotional film “Mountains and Rivers Flowing into Hai”, played on loop at the entrance, takes “Visit Haidian, Delight in Haidian, Enjoy the Future” as its thematic thread, extending a sincere invitation to guests from home and abroad.
Part 01 Digital Cultural Heritage: Cultural Heritage “Accessible and Perceptible”
In the Digital Cultural Heritage Immersive Experience Zone, exhibition items featuring deep integration of technology and culture have become the biggest highlight.
The “Flying Over the Forty Scenes of the Old Summer Palace” panoramic immersive experience takes the “Forty Scenes of the Old Summer Palace” from the ninth year of the Qianlong Emperor’s reign as its blueprint, integrating precious historical documents such as the Yangshi Lei architectural drawings. Through digital technology, the original appearance of the buildings and gardens has been restored with high precision. Audience members find themselves enveloped by dynamic imagery projected across curved surround screens, as if traveling through time and space, leisurely strolling through the classical garden at the height of its prosperity.
Ms. Xu, who had just finished watching the experience, told the reporter: “Previously, viewing the Old Summer Palace meant looking at drawings and restoration models. Now it feels like actually walking inside — even the reflections of the corridor bridges are visible. History suddenly feels so much closer.”
On-site docent Li Xue told the reporter: “Many visitors say after experiencing it that they never knew history could ‘come alive’ like this. What we do is not simple video playback, but rigorous digital restoration based on extensive historical materials, ensuring every building is traceable and verifiable.”
Another heavyweight exhibition item, “Encountering the Heavenly Deities”, is equally remarkable. This project takes the 28 heavenly deity statues in the Dahui Temple as its creative blueprint, employing cutting-edge technologies such as depth-sensing cameras, human motion recognition, real-time interactive programs, and dynamic image synthesis to allow this cultural treasure — acclaimed as the “pinnacle of Ming Dynasty colored sculpture art” — to meet audiences in digital space. As visitors push the virtual “temple gate,” the large screen immediately presents the images of the “Heavenly Deities,” creating an immersive artistic atmosphere of “temple gate opening, Heavenly Deities appearing.”
Mr. Chen, a visitor from Tianjin, exclaimed after the experience: “Physical cultural relics can usually only be viewed from a distance. An interactive experience like today’s ‘push the door and see’ is truly a first for me.”
It is reported that the Dahui Temple has officially launched a research-oriented restoration and conservation project, expected to open to the public in October 2029. This December, the Three Hills and Five Gardens Cultural and Arts Center will be the first to host the “Dahui Temple and Pilu Temple Mural and Statue Exhibition,” allowing the public to preview the sculptural art essence of these two ancient temples in advance.
The “AI Into the Painting” exhibition item takes the Hall of Calm Seas (Haiyantang) of the Western Mansions in the Old Summer Palace as its backdrop, providing digital zodiac bronze statue materials. Visitors select their zodiac sign for a photo check-in, and the system instantly generates a personalized cartoon image that can be printed on-site, transforming cultural memory into a tangible keepsake.
Part 02 Hardcore Technology: Humanoid Robots Showcasing Full “Dexterity”
The Artificial Intelligence Dance Center, prominently positioned within the exhibition area, centrally presents Haidian’s hardcore technological strength. Beijing LimX Dynamics Technology Co., Ltd. brought two full-size humanoid robots — LimX Luna and LimX Oli — to the exhibition.
Luna is equipped with a self-developed second-generation Sys0 motion control engine, precisely coordinating 27 degrees of freedom, capable of completing high-difficulty dance movements such as Illusion leap and the splits, as well as catwalk performances, while also supporting natural dialogue and body language interaction.
Oli features 31 body degrees of freedom, capable of maintaining self-balance in complex terrain and achieving high-dynamic full-body movement, adaptable to diverse scenarios including VLA embodied intelligence algorithm training, scientific research simulation, and general manipulation.
“We focus more on how robots can truly integrate into daily scenarios, rather than simply showing off technical skills,” introduced Guo Chenchen, on-site technical staff from LimX Dynamics. “The two models exhibited this time can already undertake specific tasks in scenarios such as guided tours and interactive performances, and we will further lower the barrier to adoption in the future.”
Linkerbot (Lingxin Qiaoshou (Beijing) Technology Co., Ltd.) showcased the latest products in its “Linker Hand” series. As a leading enterprise in the global dexterous hand field, the Company has achieved full coverage of three mainstream technical routes — tendon-driven, linkage, and direct-drive — launching products such as the Linker Hand series dexterous hands and the Lingxin Creator large model, and expanding the cutting-edge applications of dexterous hands in industrial semi-open scenarios and artistic performance fields through forms such as the Lingxin Yuefu robot band.
Part 03 “Haidian Gifts”: Creating Take-Home City Memories
The widely acclaimed “Haidian Gifts” cultural and creative brand has been refreshed and upgraded this year, launching seven thematic series: Mountain Garden Trendy Gifts, Collection Treasures, Rediscovering Intangible Cultural Heritage, Red Memories, City Impressions, Digital Intelligence Technology, and Cross-Border Collaborations, forming a cultural and creative product system with deep integration of culture, technology, and tourism.
“I bought a fridge magnet featuring the Old Summer Palace zodiac animal head element. Scanning the QR code shows an AR restoration animation — much more interesting than ordinary souvenirs,” a young tourist selecting cultural and creative products told the reporter.
Haidian Cultural Tourism Group is simultaneously advancing the cultivation of distinctive cultural tourism brands. The “I Went to University in Haidian” study tour brand links with over ten “Double First-Class” universities including Tsinghua University, as well as leading sci-tech innovation enterprises such as Lenovo, iFLYTEK, and NetEase, creating real-scene classrooms through a “university-local government-enterprise deep collaboration” model, helping young people perceive the future through experiential learning. The “Curator Program” gathers trendy brands, first-store pioneers, independent designers, and cultural makers, activating the cultural vitality of the Three Hills and Five Gardens through a co-creation model.
Part 04 Ecological Services: Four Innovation Carriers Make a Concentrated Debut
The exhibition area features the “Artificial Intelligence + Culture” Ecological Service Station, jointly established by the District Committee Publicity Department and the Administrative Committee of Zhongguancun Science City, among other departments. It integrates five core services: direct access to competent authorities, policy application consultation, enterprise services, resource matchmaking, and extended high-frequency government affairs services for parks, bringing services right to enterprises’ “doorsteps.”
Four innovation carriers — Beijing AI Origin Community, Zhongguancun AI Beiwei Community, Renmin University of China Science Park “AI + Culture” OPC Startup Community, and CCCC Haidian Sci-Tech Innovation Park — made their simultaneous debut, providing resident enterprises and talents with full-chain resources and services including industrial space, computing facilities, incubation and acceleration, policy application, copyright protection, and application scenario matchmaking.
Additionally, the exhibition area concurrently displays outstanding works from the 2026 University Students’ AI Arts Season. This arts season, hosted by Beijing Normal University and themed “Art and Intelligence Co-Constructing, Co-Creating Aesthetics,” features three main competition units: AI image creation, AI song creation, and AI interactive art, receiving a total of 1,720 works covering over 350 universities worldwide. The two IP characters, “Hai Xiao Ai” and “Hai Xiao Ya,” convey Haidian’s technological warmth and humanistic care through youthful expression.

It is reported that from September to early December, Haidian District is launching the “Zhongguancun Arts Season” series of thematic activities themed “AI Haidian, Savoring Golden Autumn, Enjoying Arts,” featuring nearly 30 activities across five major sections: enjoying grand ceremonies, watching competitions, attending performances, visiting exhibitions, and savoring the fragrance of books, including the University Students’ AI Arts Ceremony. The rich thematic activities will present citizens and tourists with a cultural feast spanning the entire golden autumn.
