As the spotlight shone brightly on center stage and applause echoed through the venue on the afternoon of March 26, the spotlight fell on cutting-edge technology at the ZGC International Technology Trade Center. As one of the five major segments of the 2026 Zhongguancun Forum Annual Conference, the 9th Zhongguancun International Advanced Technology Competition came to a close here.
Linkerbot (Beijing) Technology Co., Ltd., a Haidian-based enterprise, claimed the championship title with its project "Embodied Intelligence Platform Centered on Dexterous Hands and Cloud-Based Intelligence", standing out among over 2,100 participating projects from around the globe.
Although the human hand may seem ordinary, it is in fact an extraordinarily sophisticated structure, with 27 bones and more than 20 degrees of freedom that enable 33 distinct types of precision grasping. This is why robotic dexterous hands, designed to replicate the fine motor capabilities of the human hand, are considered one of the most technically challenging core components in humanoid robot development. Linkerbot's award-winning project represents the cutting edge of current technological progress in this field of embodied intelligence.
"The hand is both the vehicle of human skill and a reflection of human civilization. A dexterous robotic hand is a vital end effector for enabling robots to replicate human skills and carry forward the legacy of civilization," said Zuo Jiaping, co-founder of Linkerbot. He noted that the company's self-developed Linker Hand series can not only play the piano with ease, but also perform a wide range of tasks in different settings, from precision screwdriving in factories to massage functions.
Through breakthroughs in finger-joint modules, proprietary micro-motor technology, and core materials, Linkerbot has achieved independent control over key components. Its robotic dexterous hands cost only one-twentieth as much as comparable international products, while offering several times the core performance. With this hard-core technological edge, the company has entered the top tier of global suppliers in robotic dexterous hands. In fact, eight out of every ten high-DOF dexterous hands worldwide come from the team.

Zuo Jiaping revealed that the company has recently completed a Series B funding round, achieving a post-investment valuation exceeding ten billion yuan. The newly secured funds will be primarily allocated to three areas: first, talent acquisition and development, leveraging Haidian's advantage in concentrating high-end talent to attract more top-tier professionals; second, the development of R&D systems, fostering collaborative innovation through deep partnerships with upstream and downstream enterprises; and third, market expansion, utilizing Haidian's role as a pioneer and model to create benchmark applications and promote them nationwide.
Zuo Jiaping said the company will remain rooted in Haidian, pushing forward the Million-Robot Data Collection Plan and the development of Haidian's Fabrication Lab. Leveraging its cutting-edge achievements in embodied intelligence, Linkerbot hopes to contribute to Haidian's effort to build a world-leading science and innovation hub, joining the district's broader innovation community in shaping a new future. The company's award-winning project highlights the strength of Haidian-based firms in embodied intelligence and adds fresh momentum to Zhongguancun's position as a global center of technological innovation.
It is reported that this year's Zhongguancun International Advanced Technology Competition, themed "Pioneering the Frontier, Innovating the Future", attracted participation from numerous top universities, research institutes, national key laboratories, and unicorn enterprises, generating a wave of cutting-edge achievements in fields such as artificial intelligence and brain-computer interfaces. Among the more than 2,100 projects submitted globally, overseas projects accounted for over 40 percent. The competition not only provides a platform for showcasing and exchanging global frontier technology projects but also further underscores Zhongguancun's pioneering role as a world-leading hub for technological innovation.
