Obtain a passport loss certificate
step1 Go to the nearest local exit/entry administration of the public security sub-bureau to report the loss of your passport and obtain a passport loss certificate.
Required materials:
1) Three 2-inch bareheaded color photos, size 3.5 cm (width) × 4.9 cm (height)
2) Proof of identity (scanned copy/photocopy of passport, ID card from home country, driver's license, student ID card, etc.)
3) A receipt showing your passport loss was reported
4) Fill out the loss report form for foreign national exit/entry certificates.
For the passport loss of your child:
In addition to the above documents, you also need to provide a proof of parent-child relationship.

step2 Contact the embassy of your home country in China to apply for a new passport or temporary travel document
Required materials:
Passport loss certificate and any other materials required by the embassy

Apply for a replacement visa
step 3
Apply for a replacement visa at a local exit/entry administration service center for foreign nationals
Required materials:
1) The original Passport Loss Certificate or Note from the embassy or consulate of your home country in China
2) New passport or other international travel document
3) Valid registration of accommodation in Beijing
4) One recent 2-inch bareheaded color photo with a white background, size 3.5 cm (width) × 4.9 cm (height)
