Gently touch the high-definition replica pages of “Yongle Encyclopedia”, and the ink fragrance of 600-year-old ancient books seems to waft over; place your hand on the exhibition case to awaken a national treasure of the Palace Museum; the robot band plays “Glory Years”, with amazingly precise drum beats...
Don’t be surprised—this is not a sci-fi movie, but the exhibition site of the 2026 WTCF Beijing Fragrant Hills Tourism Summit.
The supporting featured exhibition area has become the highlight of the venue. The grand exhibition themed “Hi Travel to the Future” brings together more than 50 exhibitors, staging a stunning collision between millennial cultural heritage and cutting-edge technology in a space gradient from Chinese red to tech blue.
Step into the Zhongguancun International Innovation Center, and you will find the “Yongle Encyclopedia” Digital Restoration Exhibition of the National Library of China at the very center. “Centered on the authentic collections of the National Library of China, this exhibition integrates replica displays, a digital restoration database, and cultural and creative product sales. Visitors can experience high-definition replication and digital activation on site, witnessing ancient books transform from slumber to renewal, from incompleteness to completeness, and from remoteness to closeness with their own eyes,” introduced the booth staff.
The adjacent “Meet Your Palace Museum Colors” naked-eye 3D digital booth is also eye-catching. “Place your hands on both sides of this exhibition case, and it will sense your heart rate, display a corresponding color, and present 6 cultural relics of the Palace Museum in different hues,” explained Zhang Huiran, a staff member at the booth, while demonstrating to the audience nearby. With the theme of “Palace Museum Colors”, the booth selects 6 relics in the museum's collection and accurately reproduces the delicate colors and intricate patterns of the relics relying on Ewin naked-eye 3D display technology. The immersive interaction integrating virtuality and reality creates a cross-temporal emotional connection and cultural resonance between viewers and the millennial-old cultural relics.
Ahead lies the interactive installation of Rubi Tu (Imperial Procession Returning to the Palace) (Excerpt), bringing the Ming Dynasty painting vividly to life. The excerpt depicts the magnificent scene of Emperor Wanli of the Ming Shenzong returning to the Forbidden City by water after paying homage to the imperial mausoleums, and the core waterway featured in the painting is today’s Changhe River in Haidian District.
In the Digital & Smart Innovation Zone, Haidian’s top cutting-edge technologies are showcased collectively. The translation system of iFLYTEK supports more than 130 languages, completely breaking down cross-border communication barriers; LLvision AR translation glasses are an ideal travel companion, projecting real-time subtitles directly before your eyes and enabling one-click comprehension of road signs and menus.
The dexterous bionic robotic hand can greet guests gracefully and play piano pieces with precision; the “Space Capsule” by Galaxy General serves as an all-round steward, providing one-stop services including beverage sales, cultural and creative product delivery and guided tours.
Further inside, the Cultural & Tourism Ecology Zone showcases a complete industrial ecosystem. Leading platforms including Douyin, Fliggy, Qunar and Meituan gather here, covering all-scenario services from online inspiration generation to offline experience, and from ticket reservation to cross-border travel. Agricultural Bank of China (ABC) also provides exclusive services such as cultural and tourism benefits for the public, green travel and cross-border payment, empowering the cultural and tourism industry with financial strength.
The liveliest corner always belongs to the “Robot All-Star Team”. Four band robots from Zhongke Huiling cooperate seamlessly, with drums, guitar, bass and electronic keyboard performing in turn. The song “Glory Years” attracts all visitors to stop and watch.
The youth-inspired Guochao Symbiosis Zone focuses on being youth-oriented, fashionable and international, breaking the heavy stereotypical impression of traditional cultural tourism. It injects youthful vitality into millennial cultural heritage and cutting-edge technology, greatly enhancing the international communication capacity and affability of the exhibition area.
In addition, the exhibition zone has joined hands with Alipay to launch special events including exclusive consumption coupons for overseas users and cultural and creative product exhibitions and sales. A diverse array of quality cultural and creative goods is on display, such as AI Papa Bear, smart devices, intangible cultural heritage paper carving lamps and characteristic badges. Balancing sensory experience, interactive fun and consumption value, it makes profound cultural and tourism heritage experienceable, collectible and shareable.
From digitally restored national treasures handed down through generations to full-chain smart cultural and tourism solutions, from AI interactive trendy toys to distinctive cultural and creative products of universities, the four themed sections advance in a progressive way. They showcase both the ultimate expression of Oriental aesthetics and the stunning debut of cutting-edge technology. This exhibition unfolds the infinite possibilities of future travel through tangible, sensory and interactive immersive experiences. Come to Haidian and embark on a journey of “Hi Travel to the Future” together!
