On June 2, the WTCF Beijing Fragrant Hills Tourism Summit 2026 opened at Zhongguancun International Innovation Center in Beijing. Gloria Guevara, Chief Executive Officer of the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC), called on leaders from all countries and cities at the conference to understand the work China has undertaken and all policies currently being implemented. For example, China has introduced a visa-free policy for 55 countries, which has driven the growth in international tourist numbers. Meanwhile, China has also invested in infrastructure, enhanced connectivity, and delivered the best performance.
Gloria Guevara said, “If China continues to follow this path, it will become the largest economy in global travel and tourism in a few years, surpassing the United States and maintaining its leading position.”
