Seeing Haidian’s Colorful Autumn Through Two Perspectives —

Autumn in Haidian is actually hidden in two perspectives. One asks you to look up, at the vast sky and distant clouds, at the expanse beyond the stars. The other asks you to look down, at the texture of fallen leaves by your feet, at the light within the leaf veins.

Autumn in macro seeks no fanfare. It waits only beside shoe tips, along stair edges, beneath tree roots — for someone willing to crouch down.

Autumn in Haidian through a wide-angle lens is more direct. There is no uniform filter; every tree has its own saturation. When the wind blows, colors are distributed to the branch tips.

Green is still reluctant to exit, while red has already burst forth in passion. Yellow spreads layer by layer from light to deep. Streets and alleys are dyed first, then the color seeps all the way to the mountain wilds.

The mountains do not monopolize the view, blending red, yellow, and green into one mass. Then the mountains pass the colors to the water, which catches them and cradles the mountain’s full splendor in its embrace.

So, the wide angle answers “how vast is Haidian”, while the macro answers “how near is autumn”. The four posters are autumn in Haidian through the lens, and also four facets of Haidian’s autumn.
While the leaves are still here, look up to catch the grandeur in the distance, and bend down to gather the autumn at your feet. Don’t let the autumn colors of Haidian you captured remain only in your album — try making them into a poster full of autumn flavor.
