Notice of General Office of State Council on Arrangements for Several Public Holidays in 2026

To the people's governments of all provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities directly under the Central Government, and all ministries, commissions, and directly affiliated agencies of the State Council:
The specific arrangements for the public holidays in 2026, namely New Year's Day, Spring Festival, Qingming Festival, Labor Day, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, and National Day, including the workday adjustments, are hereby announced upon approval of the State Council, as follows:
I.New Year's Day (3 days): January 1 (Thursday) to 3 (Saturday), with workday adjustment; work will resume on January 4 (Sunday).
II.Spring Festival (9 days): February 15 (the 28th day of the 12th month in the traditional Chinese calendar; Sunday) to 23 (the seventh day of the first month in the traditional Chinese calendar; Monday), with adjusted working days; February 14 (Saturday) and 28 (Saturday) are designated as working days.
III.Qingming Festival (3 days): April 4 (Saturday) to 6 (Monday)
IV. Labor Day (5 days): May 1 (Friday) to 5 (Tuesday), with workday adjustment; May 9 (Saturday) is designated as a working day.
V. Dragon Boat Festival (3 days): June 19 (Friday) to 21 (Sunday)
VI. Mid-Autumn Festival (3 days): September 25 (Friday) to 27 (Sunday)
VII. National Day (7 days): October 1 (Thursday) to 7 (Wednesday), with workday adjustment; September 20 (Sunday) and October 10 (Saturday) are designated as working days.
Entities and individuals are encouraged to effectively create longer periods of leave by combining these holidays through systems such as paid annual leave to promote staggered travel. During the holidays, all regions and governmental authorities must make proper arrangements of duty shifts, as well as work related to safety, epidemic prevention and control and other key issues. In the event of major emergencies, cases must be reported in a timely manner and properly handled in accordance with regulations to ensure that people spend the holidays in peace and safety.
