Haidian District features a complete ecological system of mountains, waters, forests, and farmlands. Its major ecological areas include Cuihu National City Wetland Park, Fenghuangling Nature Park, while its key water sources include the Beijing-Miyun Diversion Canal and the South-to-North Water Diversion Project's regulation reservoir. In 2024, Haidian topped among Beijing's six central urban districts for the 10th consecutive year for its air quality. The annual average PM2.5 concentration was 30.6 μg/m³, with 293 days of good/moderate air quality (a record high) and zero days of heavy pollution (also setting a new record).
